About Meg Jones

Hi, I’m Meg Jones, a romance writer living in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Before becoming an author, I worked as an Engineer in Oil & Gas, and my background is in electrical and electronic engineering.

I started writing on Wattpad during my teenage years, where I found a supportive community for my original stories. I grew up on accidentally reading Meg Cabot’s adult books but it wasn’t until I stumbled across The Hating Game by Sally Thorne that I cemented my love for romance

My second book, Clean Point, was published by Penguin Michael Joseph in the UK and Avon Books in the US in 2024, and is the first in a four-book tennis romance series. It’s a story about redemption, revenge, and romance—on and off the tennis court. Tennis might be a sport I gave up, but writing about it lets me create the competitive, emotionally charged stories I love. Rights have also been sold in Germany, Portugal, and Italy—a dream come true!

The inspiration for my stories comes from my love of sports, female empowerment, and mental health journeys. I wanted to write books where female athletes are at the forefront, tackling not just their competitors, but also the ups and downs of life, relationships, and personal growth.

Why I Write

A woman with shoulder-length brown hair sits on a bed, wearing a green zip-up shirt and dark pants, using a laptop. There are some papers on the bed next to her, with curtains in the background.

At the heart of everything I write is the idea that women—whether they’re competing for the Grand Slam or navigating life’s personal challenges—are powerful, resilient, and capable of taking control of their own stories. I wanted to create romances where women are the stars, the heroes of their own lives.

I’m also passionate about mental health and making sure my characters reflect authentic journeys of struggle and growth. Whether it’s through my slow-burn romances or moments of high-stakes competition, I’m committed to writing stories that resonate with readers who value both heart and heat.
